Specialty Screw Corp. Installs Solar Photovoltaic System
Reduces energy usage during idle periods
Rockford,IL – January 10, 2012 — Specialty Screw Corporation begins the new year with a solar photovoltaic system installed by The Morse Group. The installation utilizes the locally manufactured Wanxiang panels that will generate up to 16.8 kilowatts of energy. Company President, Russ Johansson stated “the goal is reducing our energy usage during idle periods enough that the solar system will provide nearly all electrical power necessary at that time, as well as supplement energy demands during normal working hours”. The Federal 1603 grant program that pays for up to 30% of the project cost provided additional incentive for installation or construction prior to December 31, 2011. Looking forward, Johansson anticipates the Solar Renewable Energy Credit SREC Auction will be a potential source of funds for producers of renewable energy in the State of Illinois. Currently, legislation is being initiated to assist small generators in the future, such as Specialty Screw Corp., to receive funds for renewable power.
Founded in 1953, Specialty Screw Corp. a premier provider of innovative products for the fastening and engineered component marketplace is located at 2801 Huffman Blvd, Rockford, IL.
